January is quickly approaching. December has arrived, and you have yet to complete your new year’s resolution to lose those extra 10 pounds. You sigh with dread as you face another massive challenge.
How can you overcome this? Begin by being truthful with yourself about your eating habits. Determine exactly what you eat and how much and how frequently you eat it. See your true self, the person who eats a bucket of fried chicken in one sitting every Sunday afternoon.
Knowing your specific eating habits can assist you in finding reasonable ways to change them. Perhaps you enjoy creamy potato salads with mayonnaise. Or you must have steak, including the fat. You eat few vegetables and let lettuce wilt in the fridge. You also discover that potato chips are not vegetables.
Eating more vegetables can assist you in losing 10 pounds. However, you cannot completely avoid unhealthy foods because the desire for junk food will grow until it becomes irresistible. As a result, you may succumb to your cravings by consuming an excessive amount of potato chips.
Instead, treat yourself every now and then. Another effective method for losing 10 pounds is to chew food slowly. You can not only avoid choking, but you can also enjoy each bite instead of devouring your food as if you were late for a meeting. If you’re really pressed for time, you might put off eating until later. In other words, you control food, not the other way around.
What if you need to lose 10 pounds quickly? Then you could experiment with more dietary changes, such as:
- Remove the sauce. You can avoid marinating with rich liquids or barbeque sauce by substituting a paste made from blending hot, ground chili peppers with water. You can also improve the flavor of your food by seasoning it with various spices.
- Use boneless chicken breasts. Drumsticks may appear appetizing, but not when you consider the extra fat. Instead, bake the boneless chicken.
- Remove the salt. Try seasoning each dish with half as much salt: if you usually use 1 teaspoon of salt to flavor vegetable soup, try 1/2 teaspoon. Soups are an excellent way to include more vegetables in your diet; just make sure to purchase low-sodium soup.
You could make these changes and whatever else comes to mind until you lose 10 pounds. You’ll eventually be addicted to feeling and looking good and won’t want to return to your old eating habits. In other words, your new eating habits will become your way of life.
